Hi, I would recommend that you try Slick by LCG. I used to use Agile Messenger until Slick was released. Agile Messenger was too heavy on the resources whereas Slick is a really lite prog. As it's still in the alpha stage, it's free.
The latest version 0.36 has added support for Google Talk and Jabber.
