@Johnex
Well i have to say i have never had mine skip a track or do anything it shouldn't but having said that i don't run whilst using it either. When i bought mine the Touch hadn't come out yet but from what i have read the 5th Gen has the best hardware and produces the best sound which for me and listening to Music is far more important than a pretty UI.
As long as i can select an Album or playlist and listen to it i couldn't really care less about the UI as i don't watch it while listening to Music i use it for a minimal amount of time to select what i want to listen to that's it. if it didn't have Album Art i really couldn't care less. But then what is good for some of us isn't for all otherwise there would be no need for such a large variety of devices.
@adnansanni
No not really as what i like may not be what you like but you can't really go wrong with Black IMO and it's chrome on the rear.

Well doggman, sure best sound for mp3, but.....you missed something, the ipod touch supports ALAC (Apple lossless audio codec), which means you have lossless sound, like a wav file on a cd, but compressed without loosing any information, unlike mp3's. Highest mp3 bitrate is some 320kbps nowadays,while alac is the equivalent of 3000kbps. A typical mp3 is 8mb big, while alac is around 30mb big. If you have a nice set of reference audio headphones or nice speakers then mp3 just doesnt cut it for audio anymore. And yeah, nice UI, but functional, i read mail, download music, surf the web all while listening to high quality music, and if i drop your ipod touch (which i have), just pick it up and smile! I have 3 friends that have dropped their 5.5g ipods, and they did not survive, not even from 1 meter.

Hi Johnex,
Fair enough but i am only now being educated by icka about increased quality encoding having coming from 160kbps AAC to now 256kbps AAC and gapless recording is good enough for my needs as i only use it whilst in the car or walking Otis. I have a set of Shure EC2g headphones which whilst being a great step up from my old Sony MDR-EX71SL's don't think they ae quite audiophile quality close but not quite. I can appreciate all the Touch does but it's just not necessary or needed by me and what i want i just need good quality Music playback that's it. I also don't drop or treat my kit badly hence the excellent Vaja case.

@ Marc, Indeed Why Go? Is on Forever Faithless along with another 2 tracks that were previously released!

I can't help but feel that To All New Arrivals is no where near as good as No Roots, I feel somewhat like Maxi Jazz is getting a big too old for the dance music scene

@slattery69
I think it does but part of my problem is i like things to be easy i don't won't to have to fiddle with settings and parameters to get the needed results i want a simple and easy conversion one or two clicks and it's done.
I feel exactly the same way about encoding Video's and Film's i just want to select it and click convert maybe i am just lazy but am very happy with the results i achieve and with the minimal amount of effort required.

If I was to get any iPod, I'd get an iPod Touch for the extra functionality.
The Classic does little more than the previous generations. I don't have one, but my friend does and its very boring and expensive. I have had a Nano before... didn't like it, sold it.
Sure, iPods look alright, but they are the most featureless MP3 players for their price on the market. And the most restrictive (in my opinion)!
Consider this:
Do you actually have 80GB+ of music and videos to put on it? (thats my whole computer hard drive worth of music) If no, then why pay for it?
The Touch is a whole lot of money for 8-16GB... Do you really want that touch screen? Is it worth the money to you?
Do you want an MP3 player thats that BIG (talking about either of them)?
Do you want flexibility in what formats you play? (then don't get an iPod)
Do yo want something the same as EVERYONE ELSE? (then get an iPod)
Me? I'd get a different brand. And I have. I got a neat little Sony unit (NWZ-S616F if you were wondering) and it plays video, a number of formats of music, I got a 4GB which is all I'll need for the next few years at least (Remember, people tend to replace these quickly) but you can get them up to 8GB.
iPods have been tested to have worse sound quality than other players especially because of those terrible earphones. If sound quality matters to you, and you want an iPod, pick up some high-quality earphones while you're at it.
If you want radio too, don't get an iPod.
If you hate iTunes or don't want to use software (you just want to drag and drop), don't get an iPod.
Anyway, I'm not trying to insult iPod owners, I'm just saying what suits me, so please don't take this to heart iPod owners! I had my Nano for half a year and it wasn't THAT BAD. I just prefer my music differently!

@Muhummad-Oli
I very sorry and i don't know where you have got your information from but i have never read such a bunch of rubbish in ages as for this,
"Sure, iPods look alright, but they are the most featureless MP3 players for their price on the market. And the most restrictive (in my opinion)!"
How about quantifying this sweeping statement then, featureless just what do expect it to do then? it's for listening to Music or watching Podcasts and Video's have you actually seen just how many options you have to choose as to how you want to choose your Music you really are having a laugh on this one.
Your next point
"Do you actually have 80GB+ of music and videos to put on it? (thats my whole computer hard drive worth of music) If no, then why pay for it?"
Just because you don't have a lot of Music Videos or Podcasts doesn't mean anyone else doesn't plus you can have all your pictures on it as well. Which even if you are not going to use means you have yet another place where all your stuff is backed up if you want it. It is better to have the space and not need it rather than need it and not have it.
You then say
"The Touch is a whole lot of money for 8-16GB... Do you really want that touch screen? Is it worth the money to you? "
Well this i partially agree with you on but if you want not just Music and Video but the ability too browse the web to and in a superior way to most devices that's the price that has to be paid. Again just because you don't want to doesn't mean anyone else doesn't or shouldn't does it?
Here you go again
"Do you want an MP3 player that's that BIG (talking about either of them)?"
I didn't realise you were one of the little people from Ireland as if you seriously consider them big you must be tiny then.
Now with this you really can't be serious
"Do you want flexibility in what formats you play? (then don't get an iPod) "
Care to explain what you mean or do you just believe it only uses one format that is DRM locked? as if so you really don't have a clue do you.
You then go on with
"Do yo want something the same as EVERYONE ELSE? (then get an iPod) "
Well just maybe we aren't all as shallow as you appear to be and actually buy our devices by what they do for us not just by brand or looking cool some of us perhaps have more depth to our character than that. You really shouldn't apply your low standards to all others.
Now what a surprise you got yourself a Sony with a whole 4gb which if it's enough for you good for you but it shows just how little Music and Video you have then as one film in Mp4 H.264 is over 500mb and a well encoded track @256kbps AAC is around 5mb plus. But i would guess you use low bit rate Mp3's to fit more on your devices and think the supplied headsets are just brilliant.
Now this is really funny
"iPods have been tested to have worse sound quality than other players especially because of those terrible earphones. If sound quality matters to you, and you want an iPod, pick up some high-quality earphones while you're at it."
Again yet another sweeping statement how about some facts to back this up or is this what you have heard from Sony fans so it must be true. The only bit i agree with is the supplied headphones are rubbish but then this is true of all players there headsets are adequate at best and that includes your Sony Player to.
Now you say how terrible Itunes is yet use a Sony that's is freaking hysterical.
Now before you say i love Apple or anything so stupid this is my first Apple product and before i bought i looked at the HSW- A range of devices from Sony and they were flimsy the screen was titchy and the price stupid for 8gb of storage. My 5th Gen Ipod has great build quality 80gb of storage and a sound that blows the Sony out of the water and cost me £190.
You can't judge a 5th Gen iPod's performance on what your Nano did and just how well did encode your Muisc and what headphnes did you use? as this two factors will effect how you Music Sounds as much as the devcie itself.

Hi Marc, nice replies. Actually the truth is if one gadget isn’t good or require for me that is not mean it’s not suitable to other. Everybody has his own requirement and own choice.
But I like to thanks you both for your own opinion. It’s really help to pick right one.
I’ve found an authorized dealer of apple. They cast US $385 for iPod classic 80GB, $520 for 160GB and $550 for 16GB touch with warranty. Suppose I’ll have touch and few months later, if I need more storage then what should I do? Get another iPod? But that is not possible, because it takes lot of money in Bangladesh. The point is hearing songs, so I must go for iPod classic.
So everybody has been saying that, the earphone, which one comes with bundle isn’t good. Is apple iPod In-Ear headphones good? I saw them as extra accessory on webpage may be that one I also found on the shop.

I agree completely with when you say what is good for some isn't for all and that goes for virtually every type of product and device. But people talking rubbish about a product being no good and very obviously knowing very little about it is just ridiculous.
If you are going for the Classic (good choice IMO) and can live without the cover Flow and make do with just normal Album Art then you may find a 5th Gen one cheaper as it's not the latest, as i have been led to believe the hardware and sound from this version is actually the best but good luck with whatever you go for.
Headphones really are one of the weakest links in MO and as i said any supplied headphones are only adequate at best, personally i wouldn't go for Apple phones but choose from Sennheiser Sony or even Shure and would try and get the best within your budget as they last a long time and really do make a huge difference to what you hear.
