4gb isn't a lot though it is? I don't think 16gb is enough really and thats the version I'd get.

for me the 4GB would do me nicely

might pop into a Apple shop tomorrow up Birmingham City centre and see if they have any scoop on it

There simply isn't a 4GB version, and I doubt they'll bother, they've got the Nano to fill that gap in the market. There's only ever been an 8 and 16GB Touch, and I imagine all they'll do is make them bigger as time goes on, not smaller.

For a device thats supposed to play large video files, 4GB is hardly enough to store a good amount of videos, especially movies. I don't think they'll bring one out.

Yeah, I have a tendancy to take EVERYTHING they say with a pinch of salt. I know their the only real gadget program on UK TV, but doesn't make them right. Quite often I'm left shouting at the screen "you bloody idiot! It doesn't make it a better video camera because it shoots better stills, you buy a digital camera for that you prick!", etc

i really like the ipod touch but the 16gb max memory is a bit pants,i would get one in a heartbeat if they were more like the ipod classics with 80 or 160gb versions, shame really.

It's the touch screen that makes them so expensive. Put a bigger capacity in there and well...it would cost way too much. 16gb would just about be enough for me....but I'm not sure for how long.

What you can get is some kind of network storage like me, which is directly connected to the net, so you have your music anywhere the ipod gets wifi connection. I think of the 16gb as a favorites buffer. When i was away from home last week, i just downloaded the songs i wanted to the ipod through wifi.
