And even then you discover it's only works out at £15pm when you take the chequeback into account, that you won't get for months even assuming you remember to apply for it, and which you're suddenly not eligible for anyway because there's an R in the month, etc. I always give any "offer" like that a very wide berth!
Anything supposedly
FREE!! apart from the phone itself is usually a sure sign of a rip-off somewhere too. No such thing as a free lunch, etc.

I had always had a 12 month contract with 02 for 8 years till last month,
I had enough of them fancied a change.
Went to Vodafone even though I wanted a tariff for £20 per month which gave me 100 mins and 500 texts as such it wasn't poss..
so I had to take the £25 -18- month contract out,
they gave me a good deal 3 months half price rental £12.50,
3 months free Insurance, etc
I took the E65 which was ment to be £25 but they gave me it free,
a couple weeks later, they offered me a extension to 24 months with £20 credit I though about it over the week and relised it was to long and just had them cancel it without any fuss.
The E65 isn't worth 24 months if it had been a N95 then yeah
Seems contracts are getting more expensive these days,
it's either down competion or the handsets have gone up

signed up to an 18 month tariff to get the deal I wanted then upgraded the handset on a 12 month deal but kept the 18 month tariff..
So I get 750 mins and unlimited texts for £35 on a 12 month contract....
happy days..
oh, and I can upgrade every 3 months

Im on a 18 month contract with o2 and got a free upgrade after 7 months with them due to there policy change, got a much better deal too for the same price so i was happy with this.
I then got another phone of them 2 months later, Ok i paid for this one but i paid £100 less than the shops were selling the K850i at, so i was happy about that too ad i even got my tarriff changed again for a much better deal so i was even happier.
I can now upgrade in about 12-14 months time, so im even happier. Time will tell when i come to upgrade tho, but so far with o2 they have been superb with me.
I also have another contract with CPW, this is my old one £20 a month, ive been told i can upgrade in my 10th month of my 12 month contract which is real soon. I got last year with them. So i will see what i can get.

I have seen something in one vodafone advert from south africa where the subscribers get talking points. However Ia not sure of what kind of contract was rhat, but you can trade in your talking points dependin on how many you have accumulated for any handset of your choice.
Any South African to elaborate please?
If you have more time you can visit the vodafone site in S.A. I
think it is
VODAFONE SA

Ya 12 months is about right for me, ill change phones atleast 3/4 times a year but tend to just buy them with the money i get from selling the old phone and maybe adding a bit.
After xmas ill be getting a new contract as im on the o2 simplicity tariff now but will go for a 12 month definitely.
My mum went on a 18month tariff with CPW as they had that swap it deal on at the time which was quite good
