@Rajaie

I have absolutely no need for RotateMe at all as if i am using the Video Centre or Web browser or any other app that i want in Landscape mode i simply slide it open and closed voila it's in Landscape. If i want it back in portrait slide it the other direction, this is neither hard or time consuming and IMO beats the hell out of installing an app i don't need and jumping through hoops to get it signed not to mention the potential for conflicts it can cause with other apps that i value more. Sometimes having less really is more especially when it comes to maintaining the stability of our devcies.

If you or anyone else either wants or needs to go through all that to use it fine it's your time and effort, personally i think it is just a proof of concept gimmick and one i can quite easily live without. For all we know the next Firmware from Nokia my activate the Auto rotation in all the installed apps at which time RotateMe will be redundant and pointless.

But then i wouldn't expect anyone else to install and use all the apps and themes i like either, it's called freedom of choice and as individuals what's good for some isn't for all. I feel the same way about Shut up to as it takes more effort to turn your devcie over then hit the red end button and i have no desire to shake my phone to change tracks or any of these other wonderful functions most of your 13 so called must have apps offer.

I value being able to navigate my devcie with out the need to touch it using the SU-8W Bluetooth Keyboard more, but that doesn't mean you or anyone else has to. em Tube is different as it allows me to watch and search You Tube video's the auto rotate function is included in the app and doesn't require signing or setting up it just works with the app and if it wasn't there i really doubt i would miss it or not use the app because of that.

Marc

Here's a way out idea!

Drive-by-wire steering in your car using your accelerometer equipped phone.

The steering wheel would contain a docking port for the phone to be firmly attached. The phone would send a Wifi or Bluetooth signal to the car ECU informing it of how much to turn the car.

Advantages of this system:
The steering column could be removed leading to weight and safety improvements.
GPS applications in the phone could record accelerometer movement and playback the same movements so that the car could drive itself. Like a ghost car in Gran Turismo or Project Gotham Racing.
When the phone is removed, the car is immobilised.
The steering wheel could charge the phone.

Obviously the are dangers related to signal stability and Bluejacking to be sorted out... but it was just something I was thinking about the other day.

Well, that's a very interesting idea, @carkitter. But the first thought that came to my mind was what would happen if the phone were to malfunction. You know how it is with electronic devices. Still, a great idea nonetheless.

I think you'll find that we're only just beginning to find uses for wireless connectivity. There is much potential for weight reduction in cars using this technology and weight reduction will help manufacturers achieve thier environmental targets.

Can you imagine someone Bluejacking your cars steering and taking over control? April fool's day would be a day to avoid driving...

wow, a K850 on the steering wheel and then the Blank Screen of Death would really mean death

Or better like the one in an old James Bond movie, where he controled his car with his Ericcson phone

I like the car idea but like others said it's too dangerous. Something cool would be that some WiiStyled games are released. Maybe they will be when N-Gage platform is released.

Daedalus85, I didn't mean all new phones. Only the new phones "N95,N95 8GB,N82,N93i"

Sorry buddy, it's fact. N95 really does have an accelerometer.
Along with some other Nokia phones and all SE A200 phones.
