Esato has a reputation for being supportive of Sony Ericsson, and quite rightly so, i have had an SE phone in my collection since the T68 and i am quite happy with the W950i & W880i that i own now.
The w960i & P5i bode well for future purchasers too, however, it never ceases to amaze and annoy me as regards the number of people who have abandoned SE and now spend all their time slagging that brand off.
Loyalty is a dirty word nowadays, would you forsake your favourite football team because they had a few bad results or had a bad season, i should bloomin well hope not!!.
I always laugh at the newbies who purchase the latest whizz-bang device at £500 and in their opinion EVERYBODY elses choice of phone and brand sucks, the mobile market is like the tide, it ebbs and flows constantly to and fro in favour of a variety of manufacturers.
So i raise my glass to all the SE stalwarts on here in the knowledge of great times past, and great times that lay ahead.

I completely agree 100%

There are PEOPLE (also) that who will STICK-it-OUT with their fave brands no matter WHAT (poor brand quality, expensive, out-dated, out-moded etc. etc.) . . . come HELL or HIGH-water ! . . . that's what I CALL . . . BLIND-loyalty !

I agree with Dogmann, as a consumer i'd rather spend money on a device that suits me. WTF CARES ABOUT BEING "LOYAL" TO A BRAND??? You are only kidding yourself! Ive had a SE W800, W900, W880 and ive used P1 and W960,the 1st two we're great and gave me high expectations of SE, THEN i got the W880 and was like WTF IS THIS THING!?? And got given a Nokia N80 and instantly loved the Symbian s60 OS and at the same time got to try the P1 and W960 i liked them but not that much THEN NOKIA introduced Ovi with Ngage, Music Store etc. . . And announced the N81 and N95-8GB and i knew from then what brand realy suits me and is looking after its customers. Now i have a N81 and from the exciting and fun experience with it/on it i look at SE and think THERES NOT ONE SONY ERICSSON ON THE MARKET THAT CAN MAKE ME THIS HAPPY. So i DON'T support brand loyalty.

Brand loyalty is all well and good, but I'm not going to spend a ton of cash on a phone that doesn't have the features I want or need over one that does in the name of brand loyalty.

Ever since I switched to SE, I haven't looked back, but the phones they've been putting out haven't impressed me that much. This has all to do with the fact that they mix and match features depending on the model branding.

I currently have a K790 and would have loved to get a W910, but for the camera and a few other niggles. It would have been the perfect phone for me if it had the same cam as the K790, and the price was just about right. Same goes with the W890 - they put in a good cam unit but without auto-focus or an flash/LED. Or the lack of Edge/3G on the same phone prior to the K850.

These things tend to irritate. This is why I've been recently looking at other brands. I'm spending money and I want the best bang for the buck. Brand loyalty be damned.

Brand Loyal people are like that :-

You know that New N82 has many advanced features like WiFi UpnP and GPS in built. You crave for it but still won't buy. You will wait for the Next Sony Ericsson Line-up. You can wait for it coz you know that there is no emergency to buy N82. You know that only Sony Ericsson label would give you satisfaction that none other can give. You know that if you buy N82 than you might be happy from outside but somewhere in your heart you'll be still unsatisfied coz its not Sony Ericsson.

Comparing a brand name to family members and friends is totally nonsense. For me, priority should be functions, features and user interface according to actual need and preference, battery life, price etc., not blind date with brand loyalty.

I have been loyal to SE so far with my last phone being P990 which is trying to shift my loyalty to SE some where else. Actually it is not the phone that is the problem, it is the SE attitude which tells me don't look for SE phone any more. I knew the existing problems with the phone when I bought it but did not know that SE will be so reckless and abandon its customers so early. May be my next phone will still be from SE but the reason behind it will not be brand loyalty. I am (also may wife and children) used to SE UI and accessories I have will most probably be compatible with future phones.

I have bought two non-SE phones so far. My first phone was Nokia and the second non-SE phone I bought as Samsung for my father. Actually I liked the Samsung UI better than SE UI.

I used to have brand loyalty for SE. However in the last couple of years I just don't think they are keeping up the pace with other manufacturers and now I seem to enjoy using Nokia phones more.

I am totally with you on those issues and raised my glass to you and others

However I must shamefully admit that I am not blindly loyal to the SE. I have and still will spend my money to whatever brands that able to give me the functions at a price I am willing to spend. Whether I ended up like it or not is another issue

Again I must say I do have brand’s preferences (instead of loyalty) on various diff products. I would give a priority to the product offered by my preferred brands rather than those that are not high in my list.

The good experience with SE products previously has somewhat put it quite high in my preferred list. Why? Maybe because the easiness of the product, or maybe because the familiarity, or maybe because the design, or maybe the wonderful people who are SE users and who are more willing to share their expertise in SE forums like Esato, I just cannot simply to pin-point on one good reason

The recent glitches (problems) with SE has somewhat erode my high preferences toward SE. So shame on me for such defer loyalty

make the basic mistake of throwing the baby out WITH the bathwater.
Each SE model has merits and demerits, inanely tarring them all with the same brush is something you in particular are world class at.

Lol imagine how many innocent babies have become the victims of such act lol
