For editing Mp3 or even creating your own ringtones Audacity;
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is a very nice tool. It has a lot more options than just increase volumes or compressing. I use it on Suse10.3, but it's also available for Windows and it's FREE!.

Hey I found that the K750i had a decent level of volume and I would be happy if my new W880i had anywhere near the that volume.
I heard there are restrictions on walkman phones volume level put in place by some EU lobby. If you notice on a walkman phone there is little difference between the preset "normal" on the equaliser and the loudest on manual.
From the K750i point of view it still would be good to make some of my albums louder because some are better quality than others so i hope one of these programs works on my W880i because the volume level is diabolically low.

Audacity is a pretty good software. More of music recordings or for sound engineering. If you wanna try something a lil simple, i'd recommend power mp3 cutter
