Well, you have to install flash through IE. Using other browser may not work.
Try to use SEUS first as I suspect your firmware is very old and it need other step if you want to use XS++ 3.x. Use SEUS is more automatic. If you can't solve the problem using SEUS then you need to use XS++ but save your contact first as everything will be wipe up by XS++.
You can go to
www.topsony.com if you want to use XS++. You have to pay a little but it has the complete firmware. Or you can browse the internet to find your CDA firmware.

I had the same problem, and reflashing using SEUS fixed it and was very easy.
