@sotos2004

What do you mean by "when i put a different animation(gif) it doesn't play it"... You can't change the startup/shutdown animation in the phone. The only animation you can change is the screen saver, and that only shows right before the phone switches over to the floating clock.

I also got my T300 from T-Mobile in germany. First I also had this f**king T-Mobile Startup and Shut down show, but then i got a tip:

Begin a masterreset. After 12 secs of the "please wait" screen remove the Battery Pannel so the battery jumps off an the phone turns off!

Put the battery in and reboot the phone. Don't worry about the long boot time after the reset, the phone has to initialize the memory. If you wan't to delete pics, mms temps etc. before they unzip from the se-memory do so.

If you now turn your phone off/on there will be the SE-Startup-Show, all Icons will be original and ERIX will be there too

Edit: Sorry, forgot to say! If it doesn't work like this just wait 13 or 14 seconds. You have to try a little bit before you find the best time!!!

@BloodWarrior

Your english is fine dude... BTW. I don't know if the technique you mention works for all types of customizations... but you can definitely clear up some memory that the generated thumbnails take up. My wife has a t300 and I haven't messed with it that much... but I have a t68i and whenever I delete a picture you can tell from the amount of memory that gets freed up that the memory the thumbnail was using also was freed properly...

Bloodwarrior,
I gotta thank you. I tried your method and after the second try, it worked! No more annoying-ass T-Mobile shutdown show. Just sweet SonyEricsson. I know we're picky people, but these are our phones dammit. One thing anyone should know before attempting this (at least this is how it happened to me): Upon doing this, I lost all of the phones information EXCEPT the pictures, ringtones, and games that I downloaded from my PC. So ALL of the phone's pre-prgrammed info is now gone. (This of course, doesn't include phone numbers and contact info) This doesn't really bug me. Most of the phones original stuff, I didn't care for anyway. However, I did like some of the pictures that were on the phone so if anyone knows how (or were I can go) to get a few select pictures and themes back, I would greatly appreciate the info. Anyway, thanks again, Bloodwarrior. Take care, all.

Also. Bloodwarrior, or anyone else, do you know if once you've used this technique, will the master reset restore all of the original settings set by the phones original distributor?

Ok, I'm sorry, but after wrestling with this for many hours into the night I've realized that it's all horse s#*t. Sure we can do the 13 second trick 3 or 4 times and free up a supposed 630k (which quickly reduces itself to 600k or lower), but are we forgetting that originally the phone gives us 538k to use, WITHOUT deleting damn near everything the phone originally came with? The point here is: If we really can't free up the memory (which we obviously can't), why have it hidden just so we can one-up the original programing? Maybe it's worth it to some of you, but if you can get over seeing the original distributer's name when you shut the phone down (which is the only thing I can't seem to fix from within the phone) then youll be able to utilize a lot more of your phones resources. The end.

Final realization after all-night research: The most you will gain from the 13 second trick is 40k. Tops. 40k. Any way you slice it. Go ahead and try. 40k

DUSK5150...but did you go in an delete all the pics? I tired the other master reset tirck and I got 800 kb once and kept it that way since. The second method is to master reste then load all the gmaes and stuff so you fill the memry completely..then go in and delete the ringotnes pics.. etc...
