Oh come on SE has more new ideas and designs than anyone else. Much as i love SE only just up until recently have they made any nice decent phones. Why i say that is so many have looked the same with the usual samey looking Walkman or Cyber Shot phones each with nothing new or different. Only until recently have i liked any like W890i or W880i. The rest are just boring.

Samsung can hire me. I'll just give them my SE concept designs hahahahaha. And I'll keep the SE logo on them.

Although I'm not a fan of Samsung myself; the very SAME thing can be said of SE phones - or Motorola phones or any other manufacturer.

Case in point: K750i basic design followed suit to the K850i right down to volume buttons, circular earpiece holes, location of camera button & power button. but the shape of the phone, design queues if you will are blatantly the same.

How else would we love our SE phones, hmmM?!!

You don't make any sense dude... Design is not only about where buttons are placed, it's about good looks with functionality...

And why would SE put the SAME BUTTON at different places in all of their phones??? would that make any sense??? No...

And please, SE is the only one who comes with the most different ans new designs... Many Nokia's look almost the same, same goes for Samsung, and there are many others too...

@gautam

Did you know that "ergonimics" play a very important role in the meaning of the word "design". And ergonimics basically is the placememnt of keys etc.. for ease of use. Therfore if the keys are in the same place it means that the design is similar from an ergonomics stand point. And SE do have a repetitive style in design, the K800/K810/K790 is an evolution(not a revolution) of the K750i design. Anybody whose not blind can see that. All their candybars barring the K850 look similar. Nobody is saying this is wrong, every phone manufacturer has its differentiating style, but to say that SE has the best design department and all their models look different is a laugh.

of course all companies produce similar looking phones, thats a given..... theres only so many designs one can come up with, you dont want to go too 'extreme/out there'....

i just think moto/samsung do it the most.............

samsung can always be relied upon to make a good looking and stylish phone (n most cases), in my eyes.

SE do it the most. the SE phone range are almost entirely made up of those boring candybars where about 90% of them look like the t610 or k750i. there's only really the shape of the buttons and a few very minor costmetic changes that are ever made between models.
nokia seem to have the most variation between phones of their range, then moto, then samsung, then SE. although moto have gone far too far with the RAZR line, if you have a look at the entire range of moto and all the manufacturers, you will see that from most varied to least varied goes in the following order:
nokia > moto > samsung > SE.

if there was any plus side for SE design, one could say that sony ericssons are by far the easiest to instantly recognise. i wonder why.

thats what the inhabitants of Alpha Centauri believe, but they're on a different planet.

Oh God, that has got to be one of the most unrealistic statements I've read in a while.
Sony Ericsson does THE best designs. Their phones have the most varied designs of all manufacturers. What do I mean? Well, they are willing to experiment with all kinds of button layouts, shapes, sizes; many different colours (unlike those monotone black/silver handsets from other manufacturers), design elements, camera layouts, light effects, software design and form factors.
Also, of course there HAS to be some kind of button layout consistency throughout their portfolio. That way one could easily recognise an SE phone. Besides, the software platform demands it.
As you've probably understoood by now, I disagree with you wholeheartedly.
