afaik courts cost around £10k per day to operate (mother worked in one for a few years). If fines were charge pro rata then ppl would start to think twice before committing a crime!

Well now, MY car was broken in to yesterday, glass everywhere etc, thieving gits stole my kiddies samsonite changing bag thinking it was a laptop bag or summat, so not only scum, but simple with it too!!

Atleast the cops were quick to act. In my place they are just so slow. That is why we mostly take the law into our own hands. Before the police are calle you are mostjy mugged to almost hlalf past death. As for me I do not believe in capital punishement bt I believe in the pights of the victim.
