The problem with not being able to send mail is usually due to using the wrong smtp-number. If you copy your setup from your computer you usually use your e-mail providers smtp. When you are connecting your e-mail from your phone, you normally have to use your network-providers smtp -not your e-mail provider.

from looking at the email address (HongKongShop.net) do you think that it just applies for the Hong Kong P800's or does that have nothing to do with it?

I don't know if hongkongshop.net might be members of this forum but I received the following email today to correct the previous one:

_________________________________________
Dear Customer,

We informed you of three problems with the P800.

The first problem, e.g. sending emails should be okay but, we were not
able yet to check it.

The third problem is solved and the software does not crush when a
connection is made from an non-reception area.

Kindly note.

Nope. I used succesfully my other data account other than my GSM provider (and same as my PC) on Z5, T68i and P800 (almost). Still not knowing why it refuses To: @ddresses saying they are malformed

Don't know if it helps, but I had a problem sending e-mail too.
I deleted my e-mail settings, rebooted the phone and installed the exact same settings again, and then sending and recieving worked just fine. And I have no problems sending mail now.

@Raven

What do u mean with "rebooted" ? Did u a master reset ? I had a memory corruption problem just 2 days ago, So i did reset the P800 and filled in my email setup. Still not working. RX ok, TX same error. I tried to fill in all 3 fields with same address, so the progress bar advanced 'til 50%, and then same error. I am nearly desperate. Tried 3 ISPs, same result.

Found, at last ! I did a *very* stupid move. I was convinced about using email smtp server instead of network smtp server
