thanks, yeah the link there is where the link on the failed youtube page took me
so I uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player and now it works in safari but not in IE7
can you not use the flash player in two different browsers?

anyway, safari is good but I don't see a way to open more than one tab when I open safari so that is a showstopper for me
also no matter how I tweak the font settings I can't get it as clear as IE7

Yeah cmd takes the place of ctrl commands on Windows,
it's all the same with cut, copy, paste etc.
they're all cmd+x instead of ctrl.

but that dark side of me still leans towards firefox
