Well the car has been around for a couple of years (well, 8 years) now I believe. What Wikipedia is saying is that it DID have a 4.4L BMW engine, but this year they are upgrading new cars they make to have the 4.8L BMW unit.

Yeah I'd say so. BMW wouldn't do many V8 engines. It may even have some relation to the BMW F1 car too. They run V8s now.
