yes very. You can get a java app for K800 etc that turns the whole screen white. Not as good as an actual torch but still throws quite a bit of light.

G700, G900 - Natively features torch app, No more need for a 3rd party app to utilize it as torch.

C902 - Probably the strongest torch ever in a phone because of the PhotoFlash

There's an app for the k800 that will light the red focus light- not as bright as a led but certainly better than just the screen. As far as I know it ONLY works on the k800 and it's closest siblings!! (k790, k810)

one of the most useful things on a phone isn't it?

well...i've had the z800, k750 (my favouritest!!), skipped the k800 coz it had no torch, now using the k850 but hate it's instability.

i was eyeing the G900 but am trying to stand-by another phone in case my k850 dies...AGAIN!

nokia no longer has torches, does it?

i think you should also "try" the torch apps designed for the K800 as well.
its because the mechanism of the apps is that :

the apps execute the camera to focus and pause it there.
just as when u're focusing something the focus light will be turned on.
but remember that the camera must be in dark location when the apps is starting.

i.e. when i do not shut my K800 shutter and the camera is facing the room light, when i start the application, nothing happens.

more infos, go here = http://torchk800.matlista.se/
not sure whether works for K850, but technically its possible.
for K800, K790 and K810, confirm works.

Every phone with LED flash (not Xenon) included can be used as torch or at least has the ability to have a torch application installed on it... So, then it depends on the brightness and the power of the leds
