With the N82 at almost at the same price and Nokia releasing firmwares supporting new features and enhancing the usability of its phones....it stands to see whether K850 gives a better value for money and is sad to see is forgetting its loyal users by not addressing our needs

i would get the k850i if i was you. i had a nokia n95 8gig and ending up having to get rid of that. even though it was a good handset it had lots of stuff on it that i never needed. the n82 is in my opinion not a good handset, the accelomter (i think its called) its too sensitive and too annoying and the buttons on it aint good. I am happy with the k850. Used to be a long term nokia fan, still am a fan of them but will feel i will be seeing out the k850 handset through the 12 month contract i have. all handsets have bugs on them, but they are always resolved one way or another. so i would go for this handset if i was u

This was my next phone
until all the problems
people had/have with it.
I've since dumped SE and
bought myself a motorola
v8 until SE brings out
good quality, stable and
phones with current
specs. I had a choice of
the n82 but compared to
the v8 it was thick and
poorly built- I wasn't after
specs this time but an
overall quality product.
Other than that it (n82) is
better than the k850.

K850 still needs a better firmware and the camera quality is still questionable..
Nothing ground-breaking but overal a good phone:)

i have had the k850i for a while...had a few reboots in it...although they normally happen when i am trying to do many things with it at the same time...mainly when i originally got it and was too excited to try everything out...but on normal use...this phone has been fine...havent had a reboot in a while

what i really love about the phone is the UI, its really simple to use...the media manager is awesome..when u r scrolling through the artists..u can type the beginning of their name and it goes rite to it

also when u want to dial a number from the main screen it searches ur phonebook for names and numbers rite away and shows u a list of possible ones.

i think such little things make it a real pleasure to use.

the keypad isnt too bad...requires a little getting used to...altho the fact that i managed to have multiple chats with people on msn on it..should mean that once u get used to them they are quite good. and i consider my fingers to be medium sized..i don think they are small at any rate!!!

hope that helps

Why I my k850:

-Big and Briliant Screen
-Walkman 3.0
-X-pic Story (its a nice feauture)
-Acelometer work great
-Camera is excellent (I take more pics than with my digi cam)
-Good sound with the new R1EA031 firmware
-Touch Sensitive Keys
-Battery Life is as good as my w810i

What I dont like

-Reboots with the new R1EA031 firmware
-BROD comes with the new R1EA031 firmware
-The phone collect too much dust and fingerprints

All things considered, the K850i is a great phone. Still retail market price is just too much for the issues many are having. However, I love the Touch Sensitive keys - accurate with just a swipe, Battery life when SOLEY on 3G is immaculate, NO other phone will last you the day with apple usuage of features (however No WiFi does help in batt life).

- I'd like the Media Player to be part of the Firmware OS not a java app. Yes I STILL think its a java app, because after loading music onto it, using File Manager all music is listed, yet using Media Player/Manager its gotta load updated music (its listed but you cannot play it until its loaded), which you can see it climbing in percentage. VERY strange.
