@ kengsim

I've tried both the P800 and the 7650 and the P800 screen is much better. Much nicer and "richer" colors. The P800 screen is very good, with good contrast and sharp nice colors.

To give the "PDA or not PDA"-Question a new turn:
I plan to buy the P800, and use it mainly as a phone (if you can still call it that...). I have a Tungsten T and another Bluetooth enabled phone, and I'm gonna take with me either the Tungsten and the phone, or the P800. And after all, the P800 is just a must-have-mobile, isn't it? I don't think you should even consider it an opponent to a Tungsten, it's simply a darn well equipped phone.
If I could only get my hands on one...
So, happy new year to everyone, and slip over well!

To all P800 owners... is it possible to copy an SMS that's saved on your SIM, BACK to the phone's Inbox folder?

I need to upgrade my SIM to a higher capacity one but I don't want to lose my saved SMS messages. I was hoping the P800 can back them up. The Nokia 7110 can do this.

i agree with you who disagree..he seems to attatched to his 7650.. which is a really gay phone! t68i kicks its ass! the p800 will live up to its expectations ..also most of the cons were somewhat trying hard to put the p800 down.. mp3 as ringtones..OH COME ON! who the hell needs that? its a phone, not a total media player!! does ur '7650' hav that?! lack of USB support for keyboards.etc... would u really lug around a keyboard when u hav a virtual one built in? lack of software..editing function for docs...all can be done since the damn thing is upgradeable. The "limited an doubtful option" of the memory stick can probably serve as external memory for the "limited" 12mb memory. "Not a real pda"?? I thought PDA stood for personal digital assistant? Thats exactly what it is! keep memos..phonebook..datebook...built in phone camera! geez what more could u ask for?! p800 all the way!

@ofiaich

Got one pre-ordered at CPW & Expansys (see which one comes up first).
Currently with Vodafone (contract now done) but will go for best deal at time.

well, I dont hv much complaints about the P800. except for the fugly button config and the color.. (I wld hv much prefered hvin the black/white version from Die Another Day)
it's not as fat as u think it is.. the 1" thickness doesnt bother me. it fits comfortably in my hand.. it feels like the 3310
also the keypad doesnt come off easy enuff like in the stupid demo..
u hv to go through a hassle to get it off..
the screen in my opinion isnt much different from the 7650.. I didnt like the 7650, u wont see me praising that bucket of circuits..
also if the keypad is off, and u drop the phone, well, I believe that's it bye bye P800.. I dont want to try it lol (only reason I keep that keypad on).
also that blue button on the side that activates the browser, if that cld hv been changed, wld hv been better (no wap in montreal)
the memory I find is not enuff.. I've had the phone for 1 day and I filled it up already, and I hvnt found n e vendors for DUO sticks..

but despite all that.. I love the phone.. lol.. I cant complain.. it's everything u'd ever want in the palm of ur hand... (except a woman)

so my advice is, if u hv the cash, buy it

Yes, I know 1" doesn't seem that thick... and yes, it feels like the 3310 in hand, and yes, 1" thick feels better than the smaller phones in your HAND... but 1" is hell in the back jeans pocket. I even find the T68 kinda fat already.

I was hoping for a thinner version without a camera. Cuz I loved how the T28 (not even the T39) felt in your back pocket...almost like it wasn't even there!

It's just a suggestion. My only real complaints with the existing P800 can easily be solved with SW upgrades (save for my 18-bit screen wish) and an aftermarket keypad w/ remappable key software... oh and let's not forget the blue & white casing!!!

ok! listen up the p800 used in the james bond movie "die another day" was the exact same colour as the p800 which is being released by SE, so as you can see it is like the t68i you have to see it in real life before you go slagging off the colour of it.

I dont get what's up with SE and blue and white..
isnt their logo green and white? that wld hv been much cooler I find..

too bad such great phones come in such ugly casing..
that's one thing that I liked with nokia.. the look of the phone was gorgeous (7210, 8890, etc..)

if n e one lives in mtl, u'd know that when showin off ur phone to ppl, they diss it becuz it;s ugly/they cant afford it

I have seen the dummy phone...I still don't like the color... and the P800 in Die Another Day was ALL silver.

I have nothing against the blue and white... but ONLY blue and white?!?!?! Give us other options... silver is pretty neutral. Blue and white is just too pastel for my taste. I admit, I'm getting sick of silver as well... but at least it's more neutral than baby blue and white.

And w/ regards to Nokia's designs... I don't like any of their new designs. (8xxx series not counted since the design isn't new) ...the 7650 and 7210 are just trying way too hard to be "funky"... although SE's soap bar designs aren't any better...

I think all the good designers from Ericsson and Nokia left and formed Neonode.
