Obviously you're looking for a mid to high end option, so here are your options:
W910i: Really nice screen and size and slide... But you don't like the design. I say give it time because it really grew on me.
W760: Slider which I think looks worse than the W910i, but you may like it. Has a marginally better camera but you won't notice, has GPS. Loses the bigger screen. Camera on the slide so you have to open it to use it.
W890i: A basic candybar, but it looks really nice. Loses some of the features of the W910i like the accelerometer and screen, but gains the same unnoticeably better camera as the W760. Nice metal case.
W980: A really really nice looking clamshell with excellent features like 8GB built in memory and a 3.2MP camera, etc. The only trouble is that its not out for a while and I expect it will be highly expensive, being the flagship Walkman at the moment.
W960i: A step away from what you might be used to in a Walkman phone because it is a UIQ phone - so it's a different operating system aimed more at business users. It has a touch screen and pretty decent camera, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you want a smartphone and are prepared for the change. Good phone though.

W890, sound is amazing through headphones - better than my iPod Nano.

Lets not get carried away.
Anyway, if it were me, i'd get a W760.

I can afford a w910 but i don't like the design, i love w580 but it's fragile
what can i do? what would you recommend me?
thanks
Considering you love the w580's design ... I would suggest the W760i, over the w910 for the following logical reasons:
* Similar design to the w580 (shape, queues, m2 card slot location)
* aGPS with GoogleMaps & WayFinder pre-installed.
* STEREO Speakers - something everyone here seems to forget!
* A+B Gaming buttons; also like K800 maybe camera shortcut buttons.
* Pre-reviews state its solid, well built, with good enough heft like K850i.
* Auto-Rotate (accelerometer) not just for browser or Media Manager!!
* QuadBand GSM, but ALSO Tri-Band 3G HSDPA! If you plan on travelling around the world this'll help IMMENSELY. W910 nor W960 can give you that.
* 3.2MP camera. no AF, but PhotoFix is there which may help; save night shots.
- No WiFi; but it seems thats not what your after
- slightly smaller screen than w910 but I'm sure just as brilliant.
I don't know why so many ppl are suggesting the W960? Its like its to protect their own purchase investment. You didn't mention you wanted a smartphone, nor WiFi, nor a huge screen/touch screen. You DID mention that you like the w580's design, but disliked the w910, so the only logical suggestion is the w760i. Then again the w890i is slick for a candybar, and the W980i is just amazing (why no Tri-band 3G I have no clue, after all it IS the flagship

:Walkman: phone so why not make it a globetrotter?)!
PS the w760 debuts end of May.
