Well actually pure looks does make sense, that's why there is such a range called design phones, essentially pretty devices with no brains. Apparently there's a market for these or else such a range would not exist. IMO aesthetics (physical and UI) is the only edge SE has over Nokia atm but even that is subjective. Personally, Nokias look unaesthetical to my eyes (especially E90, sorry Marc) with the exception of 6300 which is perfection on Nokia's part. I personally place design as an important criteria mainly because of my design background and I'm sure many other designers share my sentiment. I just feel that form and function should always go hand in hand and no manufacturer currently satisfy this requirement of mine

It is incorrect that UI is just aesthetics. It has also a great impact on how convenient is the use of the device, and for me SE have always had better UI than Nokia. I have nothing against N82, but menus in SE platform are much more convenient in daily usage.
Plus K850 has better camera settings and camera pics differ, K850 with more noise and N82 with more blur. This is partially due to much stronger JPEG quantization in N82 (lesser preservation of the details). But what's better? It is your own choice.
Yes, video can be the argument, but again, it is only in the case when you use it very often. For those who don't use it on a regular basis, video quality means nothing. And BTW, K850 videos are much lesser in size due to lower resolution, but it is still sufficient enough for QVGA screens (and watching on mobile phones).
And K850 is more refined than N82. N82 is a good device, but my personal choice is K850 for the reasons I mentioned above.

i prefer the k850 to the n82 anyday..i had tried the n82 and typing an sms on that hone was simply impossible...and btw..the n82 has a fingerprint problem too..the titanium version looks very dirty when used for a longer stretch of time...the pics taken..the phone i had used..were not too impressive either...my k850 took better at auto settings..
i personally advice u to check the k850 pic section in esato and the pics taken by tother mobiles section here..
and btw..BROD never hapenned to anyphone in INDIA atleast...i guess its only for branded phone...and SE with the next firmware shall make sure it wont happen again..
as for sound quality...i dont thnk N82 comes close to the k850 in any way...the n82 sounds too mushy when handling bass..but does refer the mids well..

I'd prefer the N82 ANY DAY.
First: The N82 is a smart phone, making the system much more flexible.
Second: the N82's camera is better than the K850 one IMO. Check this out...
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_[....]_vs_nokia_n95-review-162p2.php (the N95 and N82 have the same camera, but the N82 has an Xenon flash). I think the N95/82 camera is better than the one on the K850, simply because the pictures have more life and color added to them (my honest opinion).
Third: The K850 has the problem with dust behind the lens cover... it's not a huge problem but it's still something.
Fourth: The N82 isn't covered in horrible glossy surfaces.
That's just my 2 cents. I think SE are getting sloppy.
As for this...
the titanium version looks very dirty when used for a longer stretch of time...the pics taken..the phone i had used..were not too impressive either...my k850 took better at auto settings..
Take a look at the GSM arena camera review and judge for yourself... they are both good but I have to say the N82 is better... and the K850 also gets very dirty, it IS covered in gloss ya know.

N82 design is really bogus and the built in accelerometer is too sensitive.
go for a K850i.. it offers the best camera ever. Its Media has no match.
just a fantastic phone in all aspects.
screen quality is just wonderful. though the phone is susceptible to finger prints and looks dirty even after a single use..., but u can keep it clean with the help of some fibre cloth.
