^ it depends on how you do it folks......

through the profiles, sms you can't do it...

but through media, music, use as.... you can do it

(well that's how it was on a D900, I'm sure of it)

Please keep in mind that Brightspark is the biggest samsung fan that i've ever seen.
Sadly he's also one of the dumbest persons alive, and for some reasons he's got good deals with the mods on the MR forum.

just tried that method on my E590 (same menu and OS as the D900i and U600) and theres no message option, just set as rington, caller ringtone or alarm tone. So dunno how else you do it lol

whilst the UI of the d900 and u600 may appear to be the same, they are in fact totally incompatible platforms. the u600 is agere and the d900/d900i is dragonfly. i can assure you 110% that you can have custom sms/alarm/caller tones on all u600s
you can't have custom sms tones on the d900/d900i without a hack, but you can have custom sms tones out of the box with the u600.
custom sms tones were later added to some of the dragonfly's at a later date....such as the g600.

So far so good with this fone! Liking it alot! Just getting used to it now, txt`ing is still taking me some getting used to but overall I am taking to it quite well.

My only complaint so far is it cant display smilies in txt`s???

Touch pad works well and the camera is great!!

Might do a full review after some sleep

I kind of like this phone for its design and Samsung make fairly good cameras but i cant stand their phones just cant get into them. After reading recent Phone Arena review im put off even more. Camera they said is poor indoors and other things they were not happy with. Wont be buying it.

Cant see the point of any mobile with touch screen. I had the samsung e900 with this function, and the amount of times that the wrong option was pressed was untrue. Give me buttons anyday.

Paul wheres your review?
be nice to see some up and close pictures too atleast.

Samung phones are great,
only had one quam with a Z650i cos of iMode you could use your own ringtones, the touchscreen was good but it would be abit awkward most of the time

best Sammy for me was the D600i best phone ever!!!!
