I've made the point before but its like a red flag to a bull...
You just can't compare a phone that is out (or about to be relaeased) with a phone that is many months from release.
If you compared a low end phone and a smartphone, everyone would immediately be up in arms...'they're not the same'... would echo round the forum.
By all means make the comparison in terms of size and functions etc... However,4-6 months is a considerable amount of time in terms of mobile phones. You simply can't compare which is actually BETTER until they are both out and available. If you do, you will be forced to admit the Diamond is better. Why? Cos its the only one of the two you will actually be able to hold in your hands and make a call with!

Why do people keep comparing all of these punk @ss phones to X1?

SE_X1 is the peeimp biaatch!!! All others bow down!!!!

How old are you? 12?

That "punk @ss" phone is basically a much slimmer and smaller X1 (based on the very same platform) that will be out half a year earlier and feature a much more sophisticated interface than that silly panels launcher app...I don't quite see why this should "bow down"...
without a hardware QWERTY keyboard

For now I would go for the X1 but my decision could change In favor of the HTC Raphael.
The limited memory and no keyboard puts me of of the Diamond.

HTC is going to need to help them in designing a phone to compete with X1

Lol... one thing you guys are missing is the price difference.
The X1: Around $1000
The Diamond: Around 700$

And I'm sure the X1 keyboard isn't $300

Exactly, that makes the SE overpriced

In this case I would go with HTC. Its a trusted company, it has been making WM phones for a long time and they probably know what they are doing, unlike SE, who first decide what they'll put in their phones, then decide afterwards whether it'll work or not.

I don't know about that. My p910 is still kicking @ss. I love the phone as old and slow as it is! It is a very well designed phone. definitely knew what they were doing then.
