I love this phone, except for the fact that the alarm doesn't ring when its on silent........... man such a design flaw.....

Priceless! The only problem is that it doesn't make a noise when you set it not to make any noise - you must be a happy chappy then

@perza:I am trying for a year to surpass the 9 days barrier. See my frustrations here:))

@RLP: it's no flaw, it's on purpose. When you want it silent, it'll be silent with NO sound to distract you.If you want sounds but no calls, you use the Flight Mode.I'm sure this is the reasin of your "flaw".
ONTOPIC: the first error, with "locked" appers on my message client when Yahoo mail keeps the mails on the server but I deleted mine from the phone.Other than that,no problem. And I have an older FW, never updated to the last one.
The ''unknown error" appears when there is a problem with the connection. If you also use Wi-fi in the same group, or your connection doesn't work at the time it will give you this message. I am pretty sure both of your problem can be sorted out.

I've had Sony Ericsson's for most of my adult life! T610, T630, S700, W900, K800, P910, P990, W960, P1i - and the P1i (which is my current phone) is one of the best I've had. In fact, in terms of stability in particular, it has to be the best Symbian I've had. I've had this phone for over a year now, and I've had literally one reboot. I've never had any of the issues you have described.

It's sad to hear that your sick of it. I hate it when that happens, when fantastic products play up and put people off.

Still.. they could have worked at least a little bit with the error- messages in the message- app (..among other things).

@s32: I TOTALLY agree with you. I'm the 1st one to notice anf thrumpet bugs and annoying things but P1i is the best P series to date. It still has that memory problem like M600i and P990i ( it's not showing and not giving errors nut that's the reason it won't surpass my 9 days barrier) but still, a nice piece or equipment I won't change soon.
@nipsen:yes, I had to guess and observe what was the problem - ''unknown error'' is no way to let the user know what happened.Big deal to implement something! You should know better:)

Sorry but I have to disagree. At the time, with the then available technology, the p800 was the best P seiries to date, closely followed by the fantastic P900 & P910. Since the 'implementation' of UIQ3, however, it's my oppinion that thngs have taken a serious turn for the worse.

Pardom me for being pedantic, but I think it would be fairer to say that the P1 is the best UIQ3 phone to date, from SE, but how that rates as a benchmark against the competition?..........

To anwer the question posed by the OP though, yes - I like my P1, but I find it dramaticaly flawed, just not enough to spend £300 or so on an alternative.

If money were no object, I think that I may well have a different phone by now.

Whereas in the past, I jumped at the chance of owning a p990 (after the great experience of owning a P910), and then at the P1 (to get a P990 that worked, had reasonable system resources etc.), I shall be rather more hesitant about my next choice (I so want the P5 to be amazing, but will study the user reviews carefully...)

And yes, it has the latest firmware.

...which is ?

GW or branded version ?

I'm asking because your firmware seems to be messed and only operators are capable of turning a firmware into sh*t.

@AD, i don“t see the P1 has flawed, but has a very good phone with some flaws...regarding competition...at the time i bought it, and even now, i don“t see anything that can give me the same - nokia does not make anything like it (i want qwerty + touch screen), and i just don“t get along with winmo. So, i recomend this phone to everyone i meet, and it will surely last alot in my hands
