Do what my lil bro did... Just get one from CPW on orange and agree to the £25 tariff, then when you get home and the account is active call orange and they will change the tariff for you... So you only have to pay the £25 once and then go onto a cheaper 1

At CPW you can get a T68 (then upgrade software to a T68i) for £49.99 on the 30min Vodafone tariff which only costs £13/month or free on higher tariffs.
Unless you like the T68i colour/design I would get the T68 which is virtually the same thing and in my opinion looks better than a T68i

my shop does it for free on £30/month on orange, but you will have to stay on that tariff for four months.

Just a thought... How "free" is it if it turns out that when you are free from your "slave contract" with provider you have paid for 1½ phone?
Would be like getting a car for free as long as you only use €15/liter fuel from one fuel company

well, not paying for a phone and paying £15/month beats the f*ck out of £299.99 not on contract, but we live in a world of choice and no one's going to make you do anything you don't want to.

It is a sad fact of life in the UK that you can charge whatever you like for something in a shop as long as you use the word "FREE" somewhere in the advert, the customers hand over their hard earned cash & go home & tell everyone they got it for free.
F = Ficticious
R = Retailer
E = Economic
E = Enticement

except they don't hand over any cash. all i'm saying is £15 x 12 months = £180. that is an awful lot cheaper than £300 on pre pay. you also get inclusive minutes with a monthly deal. sorry if being £120 cheaper to have a phone on monthly rather than pre pay is offensive to you. nothing in life is free. it has to be paid for somehow. unfortunately, we advertise phones as free on whichever tariff because customers come in and say 'how can i get the t68i for free?'. if you don't want it, then no one's going to put a gun to your head to make you go on monthly.

Even if you only ever use your "free" talktime you are gonna get a much better deal on a pay monthly contract!

CPW were only doing the t68i free with mca-20 if you traded in your old phone, which wasnt apliccable to us at the time.. Shame really coz in hindsight it would have been a good idea to buy a crappy old motorola for £30 and trade that in!!!
