Some websites redirect you to their mobile or wap site automatically if they detect a mobile web browser and Hotmail is one of them.
But since Opera Mini is accessing web pages through Opera servers and not directly, you are able to open the original 'web' page.

I think only never UIQ

can open HTML web sites with the built in browser... Anyway so can look for another software that opens HTML properly to see if it suits your needs...

It's not really the phone's fault, it's Hotmail's fault. They've got their systems set up to redirect to the mobile version for all users of Opera Mobile 8.65, which is the browser in W950.

Well didn't knew that hotmail does that too... I have the same problem with my K800 (although it is not UIQ phone)... The opera mini 4 opens most of the pages in HTML, but there are some pages that are opened in wap or some "light" mobile version... That annoys me sometimes... Such good sites, and you can't browse them as you should.

All sites with a mobile version have predefined User Agent Profiles of each browser / phone / manufacturer to recognise them.

There are plenty of apps you can look for to replace any of the built-in apps that doesn't cut it for you, ie, coreplayer for the video features you need, and yes, i can't access my hotmail acc in html, but works wonderfully with my gmail and yahoo accs

Yep, the site didn't include Safari/WebKit on their list of UAProfs.
