more interested to see new product that bring it back to the good times
what SE need now is a new product that emulate the success of T610...but not a look alike of T610.
The current condition is like repeating what happened in 2003 and 2004.
1st ad 2nd quarter they don't do well then 3rd quarter and 4th, they have a come back wth T610 (2003) and K700 (2004)

Gotta agree with sony,
are F*ck-ups. Its been countless years and they still cant get it right with there software. Giving ps brand to se will mean return of devices on launch, poorly written updates, and, unsatisfied customers. half the cybershot and walkman phones out don't deserve the branding.

the PS brand is so valuable and precious for Sony. it took them years and years nourishing this product, so they can't just accept a mediocre tryout that might ruin the brand.
furthermore, i THINK, Sony is preparing a suprise. mmm. .. in their effort to counter any attack by nintendo (DS successor), they may integrate a cellphone functionality in their next PSP generation.
the logical progress:
PSP>PSP with GPS add on> PSP with Skype functionality> ???
PSP with cellphone anyone ??

May be? They need to look into it seriously but Wii is up on their a$$ in japan who outsold PS3 3 to 1. They have got to do something.

So would Sony position this like the iPhone then - with basic functions but doing certain things better than anyone else? I can't see Sony bringing out a PSP based C905 competitor. Is this why SE are avoiding Wifi in feature phones?
I think it's inevitable that mobile phones would significantly eat into MP3 player sales and that Sony can't lose by sharing branding because it gets the profits from both. Besides, one of thier latest MP3 players looks alot like a W910 and that can only be good for Sony.

Sony already built
Mylo remember...add a sim slot/stage, and you have a workable multimedia gsm device(a lot smaller than PSP, to boot; 3.5", iPhone-size screen - coincedence??)......
And as GF already said, it needs to be special/a flagship device, so no half-baked branding, a la SE(yawn)......

If Sony make a PSP phone, I expect it will be more likely a small formfactor PSP with a phone built in, than a phone with PSP tacked on.
They will probably pay SE to develop the phone components and software.
The other question is will it have UMD device, or is it going to be a new format, and if so will they be sensible and use M2?
And how will you buy games for it?
