well, if you look carefully, this HPM-77 is somewhat bigger. Look at the metal part before the rubber earbud. It's bigger than the earbud in HBH-DS 980 and HPM 70 doesn't has that...
But yes, they're similiar, they both are earbud-earset style right?

No, only with the hpm70. The ep630 are better overall performers, but the hpm70 is better for base.
Don't know about the hpm77 though, haven't heard them yet.

As said, ep630 has less bass compared to hpm-70. Anyway, i want to share mine. With less than 30 dollars, i got a really beefy sound with my phillips SHE-9700. What i did, i changed the wire to a normal ipod style (coz i hate neck-strap), soldered the end directly to SE proprietary plug and there you go.
