Tomtom 6 runs well on my G900, do a google search and your find quite a few sites with all the info you need

Right, well that's good to know then.

Did you get it cheaper than the £87 on the TomTom website? If so, can you give me some pointers of how to get it cheaper?

I've done a bit of a search but there seems to be a lot of versions and none of them says they might work with the G900!

If you buy it you need the DVD version which comes with the UIQ 3 installer sis file.

g900 is what you will be satisfied with(frankly speaking you will be satisfied with even t68 over iphone ).

I too use Tom Tom 6 quite happily on my G900 fine. And IMO the G900 is much better then my P1i is, I hate the keyboard and the screen on the G900 is way better, this means it's easier read when driving in sunlight.
So I too recommend the G900. IMO the iPhone is crap, the interface is stunning but that's it, it lacks features. You can't even stream via bluetooth to headphones using a2dp or even buy tunes of iTunes over the 3g network. But if you worried about cost then forget GPS on a phone to be honest. Tom Tom 6 costs in initial outlay and then you buy a gps unit, the iPhone currently has NO gps software available, Tom Tom are the only ones rumoured to be launching a product for the iPhone. This leaves you with Google Maps, great if your on foot but forget it if your driving.

Do you want to use GPS whilst driving around London or walking?

Yes, obviously, when I talk about the iPhone, I'm talking about the new one!!!

I only want the GPS for walking around. I'm freelance and work all over the place and often have trouble finding the place I'm supposed to be going. (Having no sense of direction doesn't help either).

I don't need it for driving as my car has built-in sat nav. That runs off its own DVD of maps, and obviously doesn't require an internet connection to function, which is why I can't understand why phone GPS does!

Ahhhh, that clears things up buddy. With regards to downloading maps, it's just the way some GPS systems work, weather it works out cheaper or not I don't know.

BUT, Tom Tom may be a bit rubbish if you want to walk around London as it'll only go by roads you can drive on. So in that case the iPhone and Google Maps may suit you much better, but it does mean you'll have it on display which knowing London isn't good! I would recommend you try the iPhone 3G out, I thinks it's rubbish IMO, BUT I do believe it has an amazing interface and this with built in GPS may be just what your after. You will need to keep an eye on battery life however as GPS eats it the same as WiFi and Blutooth does.

IPhone is a nice concept, but the G900 has much more to offer. I got a hpm-100 (I need a headset with 3,5 jack, so it is not really more to carry around, and it cost me only 35 euros, less than a hpm-82).
Only reason to prefer the iphone would be showing off. It was made by marketing.

I can't *believe" it's so difficult to get a GPS app for a G900 that just lets you walk around and tells you how to get to where you're going!
