> O2 named as fastest home broadband provider

Ummm, I can't see why not.
Broadband is a generic term, not a designation of a certain speed. It can mean anything from 1/2mbps to 20mbps or more, and O2 get alot more than 1/2mbps.
And given the current status of mobile broadband, the market their aiming for it surfing and e-mails and light streaming, not downloading files. If you need to do that, wait till you get home.

To be honest o2 can't really claim to have mobile broadband with the speeds they have.
O2 is not claiming anything about its mobile broadband speed. Its talking about the home broadband service as the title of this thread says.

Think your missing the guys points...
They were simply referring to O2's very poor 3G service (i.e. mobile broadband) which is pretty much non-existent...
They are not comparing mobile broadband to fixed line broadband and were just making a statement being fully aware of the thread title/topic...
Make sense?!
I also think its ironic that they get an award for their fixed line broadband service when their core markets version is so lacklustre!!!
I work in the City and even though there is supposed to be an O2 3G mast within 500 metres of me I still cant get a signal... On my train journey to and from work (Waterloo/Hounslow) I cant get a 3G signal that actually allows me to make calls!!!
And when I do a manual network search, I always seem to find signals from at least two of the other networks (phone set to 3G only)!!!
