Yes, it is always recommended that you perform a full or total flashing via Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) if you have any problems---in this case may be related to firmware or software issues. The case like frequent restarts or glitches here and there may be overcome by overwriting the whole Main Firmware and File System one. It's free, you just need to have a good internet connection and a healthy Windows-based PC as long as your CDA is approved by SEUS server.

SEUS doesn't work on Vista, so I tried using it on an XP computer, and the problem with the phone connecting to SEUS, is that it doesn't even stay on long enough to update. It just continues to restart over and over again.

yeah how can it be from India if it has Arabic text?
phones from KSA have Arabic text but phones from UAE usually don't have.
or maybe that's Hindi(Indian lang)on your phone.
anyway why don't you go to your local service center and ask them to re-flash your phone?
i don't think that costs much.

surely your phone should be OFF during any updating using SEUS? you connect when asked but you press the "c" key while plugging in the data cable

But the phone TURNS ON to update after holding down the 'c' button and plugging it in.
Ok, the main point is that the phone simply restarts no matter what way it's turned on, e.g. through updating or connecting it through the computer.

That's weird cause the phone shouldn't turn on to update it. It should stay turned off.
Do you hold down the 'C' key until it tells you to release it?

reflashed my own yesterday and SEUS told me to charge battery fully then turn off and take battery out! then put batttery back in and when it asks you hold down the "c" key while you plug in the data cable ant it will connect and tell you when to release the "c" key and the phone stays off!
are you sure your power button is not stuck?? this might explain if the phone was continously restarting?

Okay, there's nothing wrong with the phone's power button, and i've done all that battery bullshit, holding the c button down and whatever but you're missing the point.
NONE OF THAT WORKS.
So, I need to find out WHY the phone constantly restarts. It stays on long enough to connect to the network each time and then cuts out. I managed to reset the phone entirely and that still did nothing.
IT SIMPLY DOES NOT STAY ON, PERIOD.
Not even with the 'c' button held down
Not even when I try to update it
Nothing! =[

We got your point dude. We were just checking you had done everything right. You'd be surprised at how many people don't know how to update their phone or need step-by-step instructions all the way through.
Do you know anyone with the same phone? Or at least the same battery? Try swapping an identical battery into your C902 and see if it works then. It might be that your battery is screwed.
