Next time your phone doesn't respond when you try to switch it off, don't take off the battery, this is probably why your phone is in a mess. You should press the on/off button for 10 seconds instead of the usual. It WILL switch off as this is the reboot mechanism for exactly the situation you experienced. I'd say a reflash would revive your phone, just make sure you're well versed with the procedure before proceeding

Firmware update seems to be the only option as long as your phone doesn't start at all.. Anyway SEUS should be able to recognize the phone although it is not booting. You need turned off phone when updating you know.

Yes, I agree, you need to re-update your firmware to solve the problem.

Indeed. If it is a software problem though... Firmware update can't resolve hardware related issues though.

Sorry for asking again, is it able for my pc to recognize my p1i since it's not in on condition.

You dont actualy boot your phone when using SEUS, what hapens when you plug it in (holding the 'c' key) is that it will start srtaight into flash mode - this doesn't require it to load the full OS. We think that it will therefore skip the part of the boot process that's causing it to fail. I think that this actually has nothing to do with the symbian OS, but rather activates something akin to the BIOS on your pc - the bit that comes up with your computer's configuration before it loads windows.

But trust the consensus here, it really is the only chance to revivve your phone - good luck

SEUS is the best solution. but I think now it's available to flash P1 with XS++. Have seen a method around the blogs but not tested it myself... Don't have free time today...

So how about pointing to the link?

tml&sl=sv&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow]http://translate.google.com.b[....]tml&sl=sv&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

Anyway, due to the fact that SEUS is a much more 'user friendly' process, I think the OP should try it first. Particularly as XS++ also requires that the phone is able to start in flash mode. My advice would be to try and revive the phone in least complicated manner possible, and if it works, and you really want GW1 firmware, to have a go with XS++.

Try SEUS first... Then if not working you can go for XS++, but you will need to download firmware file for it first...

P.S. The link is dead... Or at least, it doens't work for me...

To Atank:

The same exact thing happened to my P1i that I bought in Dubai. NO ONE COULD FIX IT! They didn't even replace the phone. I was only able to use it for 2 months. I bought the phone Sept. last year.

I recently found the phone again, an object of despair. I'm doing some research now to try and make it work.

I have long since bought a Motorola Razr and an HTC touch Diamond but I still get upset when I look at my P1i. I paid good money for it after all and I was an SE fan for so many years.
