Nice to see this going somewhere guys!
Also nice to see 923SH, with it's
WVGA screen, and that tiny
790mAh battery, which powers it......
And many on here argue that WVGA screens are too much power drain - then how can this device even run, on that little power??
Oo, any info on FOMA STICK NEXT??......

Hi!
great thread ! I am looking forward to following this !
keitaidenwa - 携帯電話 けいたいでんわ is an interesting word.
the first two characters - keitai 携帯 can mean ' to carrying something in the hand '
The first character is used in the verb - tazusaeru 携える たずさえる to carry in one's hand,
The second character is also used in the verb - obiru 帯びる おびる (1) to wear (sword, decoration, etc.), to carry, (2) to be entrusted (e.g. with a mission), to take on, (3) to have a trace of, to be tinged with,
Interestingly, this character can also be read as obi and is a noun. 帯 おび which is the name for the sash worn around the waist with a kimono.
The third and fourth are denwa 電話 mean electricity 電 and talk ( or tale ) 話 so it is like electricity talk !
The verb hanasu 話す はなす means to speak.
Got you all bored now
back to reading the news from Japan !

Latest rumors that the next SH907i from DoCoMo will be a flip phone (oh how obvious...) with a 8.1 megapixel camera. Hopefully Sharp actually uses a different camera module this time... Sharp used to have the world's best cameras in their phones with a CCD sensor... their last 903SH was the first 3.2 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom.

Indeed Sharp were the pioneers of CCD implementation on mobile phones, GX30 came first with CCD before SE did with S700. and Lets become realistic, v903SH was the true best 3mp camera phone. I also bet that the new sharp 5.2mpx t phone utilizes CCD sensor. anyway it's very good to hear that sharp and panasonic were about to redeem themselves outside japan. panasonic's last phone to participate in the megapixel race was their VS series @2mp.

I have to say these look very good on paper, but very bulky and awkward in pics.

It's a little big... but not awkward in person. Just an update, I did get my hands on the SH906i and I will be writing a full review hopefully soon, within the month or so? I'll be posting my first impressions of the device tomorrow.

Good question... not sure actually =P I know the most recent Japanese Walkman phone is the SO905i (not the SO905iCS)... sorry I can't be of any help.
