go for e51 if only average non AF 2MP camera but it has got a good s60 web browser. wifi is 802.11g only.

go for the p1i. has a more decent camera but costs more than the e51.

given the two, i'd rather go for the p1 with it's features.

The E51 has both wi-fi 802.11b and g. The P1 only has b.
Yes go for the E51, it has a very fast UI, great Web browser with Flash content support, great battery life, TONS AND TONS of useful software and games if you want some entertainment, its only letdown is the camera but otherwise great phone and brilliant build quality.

If you're into sliders, check out the N80. It has less RAM (64MB vs 96MB in the E51) and uses miniSD but it's much cheaper (~$220 brand new vs ~$280 for the E51) and has a better cam with flash to boot.

So did I. But the N80's screen is great for surfing the web (OP's #1 requirement) and while its camera can't be compared with the likes of the N95 and N82, it's waaayy better than the craptacular cam in the E51 (OP's #2 requirement). If the OP is into video calls, the E51 is useless since there is no front facing cam.

It might be a matter of personal preference, but I think the N80 looks better than the E51 too.

Of course, compared to the current crop of the N and E series units, the N80 looks like something that prehistoric creatures would use but I think it more than holds up against the E51.

I had the N80 for alittle while and it was a good little phone, camera was smart and wifi worked well. Ok the menu was alittle slow but alot of phones are like that now anyway!?! Id definately look into one...........the battery being rubbish never really bothered me because I normally charge my phones most days!

Regards

Forget about n80. Its a slow s60 phone. And the camera is also a fixed focus one. So nothing to rave about it. Only difference is the flash. Construction of that slider is not that great too. Feels wobbly. E51 has a better, faster interface, solid construction and a premium touch.
Btw, p1 qwerty keypad is not that bad. At first look. It may seem awful to use. But given a short time to learn how to use it, p1 keypad is good.
