How do you like it when comparing to p990? i'm thinking of making the same change.

My p990 really seems old now.
I think I'm still stunned by the new experience, but I wonder:

1. How can I send sms to several people? (p99o had checkboxes)
2. Why does music stops when I go to another panel?
3. How can I choose where to put files received by Bluetooth?
4. Is there a way to write sms with single hand?
5. It says GPS, can't find it?
6. Is there a way to watch .mkv files or add codecs?
7. Is there no need for backup anymore? Can only use sync.
8. Can't I use my own signals for incoming calls anymore?

More to come...

Well i use the htc touch cruise which is also win mobile 6.1 so ill give a quick how to with reference with my htc phone ... im not saying its the same way to do it but it should be the right direction coming from winmo 6.1 and htc

1. multiple sms ... goto sms and menu then add recepient. type in the contact name and the name would come up with various numbers ( if its in your address book) if not type the number manually. then just goto ad recipient again then rinse and repeat.
2. using windows media player on my phone it should be able to continue playing the music in the background. i know that the htc touch cruise had a seperate music application to the windows media player application. try the windows media player
3. once again under the connectivity tab or connection tab or panel whatever the xperia has ... there should be menu on the screen then bluetooth. goto bluetooth then u would see your bluetooth devices a couple tabs down you should see (under htc touch cruise) ftp. under ftp you can assign enable bluetooth explorer and enable file sharing
4. not sure about this but again with the touch cruise u can choose various keyboard layouts ... from the full keyboard to xt9 (i personally use xt9 for speed typing with one finger)
5. gps should be there with google maps ... under google maps goto menu then select enable or use gps. or if you download tomtom select use built in gps device from your tomtom preference
6. mkv codecs ... i dont know ... i usually convert them to divx/xvid and watch on my creative zen vision m
7 and 8 i dont understand. (7 you can back up your contacts to sim or add your contacts to windows live thats if you have a windows live account or add them to outlook contacts ... i personally back up my contacts to windows live because with my live messenger i can email them directly and i dont plan on deleting my hotmail/msn/live account any life time soon.)

5. Google Maps But if you mean a car navigation software, there is none. You have to download one.
8. I don't know the correct terms in englsih so I write in Swedish:
Inställningar -> Ljud och meddelanden -> Meddelanden
Se bara till att ha ringsignalen sparad i rätt mapp (där dom andra ringsignalerna ligger).

Does it have Megabass? What is the music quality like through the headset and the speaker compared to P990?

Multiple sms.
One thing I use often is multiple receviers when I send sms.
In P990 I could just check each checkbox in the adressbook for who'll receive my sms.
Isn't there anything like that in X1?

GPS
Found it. But it doesnt show my exact location like TomTom on P990.

Still, X1 has been free from bugs.

@Inferis: The issue of selecting multiple SMS recipients seems to be yet unresolved for WM devices. My Samsung i780i (a WM6 device) doesn't have that either.

Unless a 3rd party app shows up to integrate this functionality, it looks like you'll have to just put up with having to go back and forth to select your multiple recipients.

I don't have any problem with my Tytn II on WM 6.1. Just start typing in the name of your contact and choose from the pop up menu, it will automatically put a semi colon at the end where you can start typing a new recipient and choose from the options etc. etc.

Still, it was much easier just checking all contacts in P990..

But I really must say that this phone is really great! I'll won't go back to P990 again. P990 crasched quite often.

Now I've installed some programs and games and it works like a charm!

WM default handwriting is good and fairly easy to use, but the best is Caligrapher, which happens to also have Swedish support
