I can verify that hte connector fits and that the audio works.

Whether the play, fastforward etc buttons work: you'll need someone else to confirm. There is no reason they shouldn't, though it's strange SE didn't specifically mention the K790.

It's hard to imagine that it would work on K810 but not K790. Both have virtually identical firmware.

Although all headphones may have fastport connectors , they are not shown as compatible with all cellphones as some features may not work.

I think Nokias charger and handsfree connectors are much more user friendly

One has to be careful while removing from the fastport.
Always pull upwards while removing and never pull out sideways or outwards directly. It might result in some pins getting bent, or lead to long term fastport problems .

Hence its not the most user friendly port.

Well, time to put this thread to rest now, isn't it.

I use HPM-85 on my K800 and all functions work perfectly and the sound quality is very good. K800 is the 3G version of K790, everything else is identical.

It should work if the HPM85 is genuine (not a fake one)

yes but K800 is hardly any different than K810 or K790 in any real degree either. So if it works in K800 it doesn't really "prove" that it works in K790 anymore than if it works in K810.

but tbh the chance that K810 has different remote controls is highly unlikely.

Strizlow is right too, as long as it's genuine then it will work fine...

Tnx for the feedback. hahaha

I mentioned the "fake headsets" thing as I have seen thousands of fake copies from headsets. So it's hard to find genuine one after all. Also some people on this forums have been complaining about HPM82 incompatibility with K800. So the problem was:

- with the phone firmware (old one)
- fake headset (most of the cases)

so I think the fake headsets have different pins wires attached on their connector (this is only my opinion). I will say, original is original. Nothing can replace it.

beside the driver quality, the most common problem on fake ones are lacking in term of "precision" whether on the fastport or the pin.
if the pin are bent even a little angle then it was a big problem for the fastport, even it was only 1mm misplaced (sorry for my english hi hi)
