IMHO, neither one cuts the mustard.

I'd suggest increasing your budget a wee bit and focusing on either the highly recommended C902 or very good G900.

The K850's front looks horrid while the G700's rear looks like the lid of a soap box.

Id get the G700, it has a 2.4inch screen, Symbian UIQ3, and its a lot more versatile. I'd always choose the smartphone, my K850 hardly gets switched on, im always using my N81.
If you want a phone just for calls, text and pics then get K850 but if you want all that plus decent Web browsing, full Multitasking, push email, Document editor/reader,movie watching etc. . . Then get G700

If you want a decent phone with good camera and some java gaming (music and etc...) you can go for the K850 (although I hate it's bugs and firmware issues)... The G700 is smartphone. It's totally different than the K850. I don't know fi you are addicted to nonsmartphones or smartphones so it would be the best to try both phones before buying one.

Even for useability(keypad typing comfort) alone, K850 is a joke compared to G700. not to mention G700 has two main types of input - K850 has pseudotouchscreen which breaks in short time and is not as responsie as the real TS on G700.

Not just Obamaland, Telstra Australia and soon Telecom NZ will also use UMTS/HSDPA 850.
