I think the backlight works pretty well, my friend got his backlight changed to a blue one, but he f**ked up his warranty... is DOES look cool though...

those replacement LEDs are usually brighter than the factory defaults....

but yah, wait til your phone expires its warranty first...

I have an early one, and its very hard to see the bottom rows of numbers if its not a) pitch black or b) bright daylight.

In other words, the LEDs are shite.

Can I get more installed or replace them?

I don't know if you wont be able to get free upgrades. But I am 100% that your warranty is broken.
I cannot understand. My back light works pretty fine. It is not of course like Christmas tree 8310 but is ok.

Whats that about you saying the early T68's have poor lighting? I picked my T68 up just the other day, but it had R1B software. Exactly how old is my phone coz the shop i got it only had them delevered the day before i got it. Looking at the keypad, the YES/NO buttons are very bright, but the *0# buttons are very dim. Should I take it back and demand a new phone? Whats the latest software they're bein shipped with in England?

The screen backlight definitely hurts my eyes in total darkness. The keypad is of course poorly lit compared to the brightness of the screen. But I can clearly see the numbers and I also like the amber color because all my previous phones had green or blue leds. Amber color is a new thing for me
I can say that I absolutely have no problems with the lighting

The phone I have with the poor backlight is manufactured in week 42. I have seen one made in week 45, and that one seems to be ok.

No idea when mine was made, but I got it in the middle of November and I have no problems with any of the lights in the keypad. All keys are visible.
I would have to agree with the bright screen hurting my eyes in the dark though. Not good to look at when you get a text at stupid o'clock in the morning!
