I don't know much about programming, but why can't Java apps run on the background like symbian base apps. Is it because Java apps run on the virtual machine??

Just because a well known programmer hates java environment doesn't mean that it sucks. if it's really that bad then it shouldn't be regarded as one of the most successful programming languages around. i wonder how much do you know about java anyway.
