Unfortunately all my songs are in mp3 format and many of them are in 320kbps format. What's the bitrate of yours in eAAC?

Most of mine are between 256-320Kbps. I aim for 320 as often as possible.

bt 1.2 can support speeds of 721Kbps in practice. I have played 320Kbps MP3 through my MBR-100 without Skipping.

hmmm, if that's the case then thge mbr-100 uses SBC for bitrates above 192Kbps. 50% of my music is 192, the rest 256 and 320. Perhaps I need to listen closer. It would be a pity if the MBR doesn't utilise the full BT1.2 bandwidth to support full 320Kbps audio.
What's a plus, is that SE A2DP devices do actually support direct streaming of MP3 and AAC codecs (admitedly only up to 192Kbps it seems on the MBR100). Many A2DP devices use SBC for all audio regardless of bitrate. SBC re-encodes audio, costing cpu (therefore battery), skipping if CPU is over utilised in other areas (example browsing interent at the same time) and also apparently SBC quality is below that of MP3, but I've been googling and haven't found out just how good or bad SBC actually is.
I know that my MBR-100 sounds fine and I haven't noticed any painfully poor audio reproduction as yet.
The other thing about the review it mentions that performance will drop when used in a WLAN environment - but this is blatently untrue in my experience where it perfroms as well in my living roomo (WLAN environment) as it does in my car (no WLAN). So I'm not sure to trust other information in the review or not.
Nevertheless, I think it's possible that the MBR-100 does only support direct streaming up to 192Kbps. I'll definitely do some more listening....

Most high quality SBC codec use is around 320Kbps.
Note: A2DP can support up to 512Kbps (regardless of the codec: SBC, MP3 or AAC).
