I say joystick. But people say that sony-type (jogdial or whatever you call it) is way better.

I think the outcome of this thread will be 99% joystick.
Joystick for me too.

joystick, or d-pad or whatever.... but I have to say the jog-dial on the p800 was a pleasant surprise, made using the phone one handed a piece of cake for the most common tasks...

I like the joystick, but the best solution I have tried is the wheel (jogdail?) on my Sony J5. It was much easier to use T9 scrolling trough the list of words.

a joystick is nice but my phone is begining to have joystick problems i can't move down all the time. jog dial is nice but i don't like it. 4 way arrows are good but then we need to move are finger back to the YES button for some things. most people that want a simple phone don't like a joystick.

Touch screen + jogdial is very good, up till then i prefered joystick, but it became unreliable & often didn`t respond as my t68 got older. (710,000 moves).

I would prefer joystick BUT, it gotta better design. as my t68 always have dirt goes in, by the gap of the joystick. and after a while, my joystick become stuck often. you gotta open the case and clean it. so for me, t68's joystick or normal arrow, Im saying arrow.
