I'll say get the W910, it should be cheaper now and I think it's one of the best W-series phones of 2008.

get a k850i and mod your acoustic driver using w980 acoustic... buy a hpm-70 earphone and set your equalizer to megabass.... enjoy listening to music whole day long... Nice!!! the most loudest megabass among all bro.......

Yeah, you could mod your K850 driver to get the same audio quality as the W-series. All SE Walkman phones don't pack dedicated sound processors so they're not hardware dependant therefore they all will sound alike with the same driver & headset. Not exactly value for money, I know. But if u must get 1, I recommend W902, best audio in the SE line & if you're bothered by the C902 cam module it packs then just consider it a bonus

Well if it doesnt have to be a SE i'd suggest looking at the SAMSUNG i450, it packs an ICEpower Amplifier and excellent sound quality, i doubt theres an SE that comes close to it in audio and volume. If it has to be an SE then im sure W902 OR W980 will be good.

I'm surprised at the need to upgrade from K850, as far as I'm concerned the only sound quality issues relate to the recordings themselves, and whatever you plug in between your phone and your ears!

Well the fact that I got a K850i doesn't mean that I got all that I want in a phone. All that I have from the K850i is the superb camera, great features and all the gizmos(Accelerometer?... But not great sound qualitly. The speaker is great/loud but theres no BASS, even with MegaBass on except when using the Headphones... But when I look at the w910, its really great and looks well built, I like the 2.4 inch screen too... But what about the i450? Is it also loud, if not better than the w910?
