why are you worried about a power failure then ?

initialization + download (@ 1 Mbps) + update takes around 35-40 mins, so any modern laptop will provide you enough juice to perform even the entire update process from battery.

No, R6E29 is an old one (two before the latest > R6G04).

If you have a localized or branded CDA, debranding to GW1 is always recommended, since GW is a 'clean' version of the firmware.

Either there is a maintenance or temporary problem with SE servers or you need to check your firewall permissions.

thanks for the answers.my laptop sucks.my main computer is a desktop and that y i am worried.imma debrand the phone wen i decide to update probably in a week or so wen i get dsl.

wht improvements can i expect wen i upgrade my phone?currently its vodaphone branded r9j005.theres alot of stuff that ive been imagining would b fixed by a firmware update.one of the stupidest things is that the volume keys control volume everywhere on the phone except in the camera(thanksfully).volume keys shud b used to zoom in the picture gallery for example.cuz zooming is so annoying u have to press that smaaaallll box to enable zoom.

can u name the main improvements?

To be honest not much changes between firmware but stability and speed. I can't remember any new functions or changed buttons in any firmwrae for the W960i.

More importanylt htough, to those saying it's the last firmware, how do you know this?? I don't understand why they'd do that this phone's not very old at all!
