does this mean that i'd have my 'play now' removed permanently? is there anyway to unistall if i want the 'play now' back?

You can edit the menu.ml file again in order to get the playnow option back. You cannot remove it from the firmware completely.

this is the original menu.ml but with the flash light added to it
i didn't tested it yet....

it will not work if it is completely removed from the firmware because the flash light part in the menu.ml is just an addressing line and for the light to work, the flash light program must be at that address.

This isn't really an Application but... you can have your light on 'Flash LED'

Press..
Right Direction - then - * - then - Left Direction x2 - then - * - Then - Left Direction.

and a menu should pop up... Go to Service Tests then Flash LED...
And there you go.
