Try connection to an AP that lets you see the MAC address of the phone. I tried this, and even though the phone says 00:00:00:00:00:00 the AP reported a valid MAC address.
If you get the same result as I, then the connection problem is not related to the MAC address. To me it seems there is a bug in the SW that shows the MAC address.

I hate to bump an old thread but I have the EXACT same problem. Mac address is 00:00:00:00:00 and no access points appear when I search for them. I tried manually connecting to my AP and getting the MAC that way, but it seems as though the phone doesn't even TRY and connect.

The phone is brand new, and I just picked it up yesterday. I did try flashing the generic firmware to it instead of the Chinese one that was previously flashed to it, but it doesn't appear to have changed anything.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I've just turned mine on and the mac address come up straight away. Master reset, if that doesn't work take it back. I know from reading threads on here that some C905s have issues with the WiFi. Some have a short range and some work brilliantly.

Ugh, I was afraid of that answer. I'll have to send this back to CHINA to get a new one since I bought it on eBay.

I'll go MAD waiting another two weeks for the replacement.

I think I'm going to try and downgrade/reflash a different firmware and if that doesn't work send it back...

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I have one short question, with hope that there is solution and explanation so nice like one before...

When I connect to Wi Fi and star Opera browser it works perfectly. But if I try to open video on youtube it says: "Failed to connect to media server". When I connect to same video via edge or gprs it connect and start the video. I tired two different WiFi networks, same message over and over again.
Any suggestions?

Same problem as original poster, and I made a separate thread, but could it be a certain FW that works good with wifi? and if so which one?

I have the same problem with my G705 phone. Don't really know what created the problem. Everything was working fine for 7 months and now my mac address is 00:00:00:00:00:00 and my phone won't show any WLAN connection points, only keeps searching.
Tried sending it for repair, they upgraded the firmware and said that the problem was solved. When I tried it out, no luck. Then I tried a few "master resets", remove battery+SIM. I managed to get it working for 15 minutes and then once I turned off the phone and turned it back on. It would not work again! Kind of lost trying to find some sort of source to the problem or some way to fix it...
Any suggestions?
