I'm not sure it works under trial. You may have to actually initiate a paid for subscription.

Yes, It seems works with trial.. but a question where put the maps on becouz it create 66_15.wfd >> etcs files are between 7- 9 megs, there is lot of these files..

When it updates from Wayfinder maploader its loads to >filemanger>other.

It's same for you.. or do you move them to folder Wayfinder??
If not wrong it still connect to the internet when use it, but date will be reduced alot

The somewhat limited phone memory is the disadvantage when it comes to preloaded maps on the C905. You cannot move the Wayfinder app to memstick either, if I remember correctly.

Actually I have only downloaded maps, not really used them since I haven't had the need yet. Does it seem to work when they are placed in "other" folder?

Yes, Wayfinder will still download a small amount of data when navigating with preloaded maps.

I was wrong earlier, my friend had a downloaded and subscribed to service called View Ranger. He bought maps for it separately (he bought a pack of national parks).

My C905 does not have wayfinder on it, I debranded it (from UK Orange) to the latest generic Western Europe and it came with google maps and CPW Navigator on it.

I still have an old PDA, it's an Acer with a built in GPS receiver. I installed Tom Tom on this and it worked superbly. I exported maps from Memory maps to it and this was successful too.

Now on to the point I would like to make.

The C905 has a built in GPS receiver. It also has the facility for plenty of storage on the memory stick. I do not necessarily want directions, but I do want a navigation system that utilises preloaded maps with a zoom in and out feature that communicates with the GPS without any requirement for external data connection.

This must be possible, it's 2008!
