It is working now. I reconnected with a2uploader to check the right file was in the right place. It all looked fine. When I rebooted it was working.

Yes it is. But it's still not my favorite phone (yet, allmost there). My favorite is still my G900, mostly because it's sounds great and loud with SoundModLite.

You're welcome. Sure the desktop works. It is set in the theme's xml, also in the original. So you'll just have to copy the desktop swf, that is set in the theme's xml, to the /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash-directory in the phone. But you probably got that.
This will work for any theme with any desktop (but again, it would be easier if the desktop swf could be put in the theme itself. Tried it, doesn't work).
I'm now looking for a nice tool to edit swf, so I can make the background go with a theme.
And have you noticed that mediaplayer backgrounds are possible to set in a C702 theme? Only Theme Creator doesn't allow it.
So stupid. Because if I create a nice theme for my C702 with for example a changed mediaplayer colorsettings, and i DON'T save it with TC (because it undoes these settings) , it works fine on my phone but I can't upload it to Esato.

Yeah for some reason if a theme was saved with SETC, all we get for the media skin will be a black screen (or in some cases the black screen also has the color tone for the skin we originally set it to). Maybe SE wants to differentiate Cyber-shot and Walkman units so much even to this kind of thing, which is comical IMO.
