Yeah, but that difference is really small. One succesfull phone could change that.
Doesn't change that SE is doing bad, obviously, but they are not really much worse than Moto and LG.

the difference is small at this stage, but the main point here is that the trend in the direction that moto and SE are going (ie down) is opposite to that of LG(ie up)

Hi all
Today I just came to know about very sad

news for all SE fanboys include my self when I read on "gsmarena.com" that SE got 5th place globally instead of getting better the LG whom are newer then SE in mobile industry but at last ranked 3rd globally and one day they Samsung and Nokia as well. What I think the main problem for SE is its high price.Although phones are better then LG and others industries although especially in term of battery as well in features but the price is the main reason backing SE to ages. Hope SE now learned much and they may now bulid the best phones all rounder and will gain it position again.

Are SE going to be 'Motorola"..........? its really horrible.
Wakeup SE ... its time to open ur eyes as well as ur minds too but plz close ur pockets. U've already gained much profit. Its time to relief ur customers with low price handsets.

Guys. Looking through the broader scenario, SE has done really well in the 2nd half of 2008. When recession has built in, it has kept its stand from the previous quarter. Moto though has sold almost 100 million handsets this year have only sold 19 million in Q4. LG holds the same scenario. Thus Its advantage SE in H2 2008, but H1 2008 really sealed the deal. So we should be happy that SE is actually moving forward with their enterprise rather than looking at their year to year position.

se_dude.... agreed.
but LG shipped 25.7million in q4 so they are not doing really bad in q4. Only SE and Motorola ... not sure how Nokia is doing ...or Samsung but no matter how bad...that two company should have volume that secure no1 and 2 spot.
but as SE over took Motorola since Q3....let see how this two "old" giant continue to perform in 2009

Industry rankings tend to be based on quarterly figures not annual ones. What are the figures for Q4 2008? Right now SE probably stands at No 3. Who cares where they stand? We want QUALITY not truck loads of absolute crap.
