> Firmware R2AA006 released to X1
Bookmark topic
I flashed the firmware yesterday and the phone got a bit faster.
I just dont understand what is that its taking so long for SE to release updates? They could've released such small update a couple of weeks AFTER the release and not just a couple of months...
The custom roms are so much better than the se crap.
I think it's unacceptable that the panels lag so much when they were supposed to be THE killer feature of x1. IMO they're pretty much useless, not even an eyecandy with such horrible lag
I'm still impressed by that phone and that is ONLY because of xda-developers. These guys are gods
going back to my custom rom...

@ BIG, there's an R2A version of custom ROM up in XDA (its a german ROM tho). I think Jack would be cooking up an English version soon

yep, I'm still sitting on the original R1A ROM, was waiting for a good lite ROM to flash to, seems like R2A has answered my prayers
.
Jack's ROM seems to be perfect for me tho, maybe I will wait till a few R2A's are out.
I'm not sure if I should just get a light ROM or get one with TF3D, because the TF3D ones have quite a few bugs in them.
Have you tried the TF3D ones?

yeah, I tried itjes roms. Touch-it 2.2 and the Touch-it MAX4G. The latter one is better but yeah there are some annoying bugs such as panels freeze ups.
Personally I like the tf3d stuff better than the regular se stuff. In tf3d for example I can see all of my email accounts at the same time (mail tab), which is very usefull since I dont have to open the messaging app.
There are also other neat enhancements such as larger menus and volume control thingie.

I flashed the custom rom way. I already downloaded itjes rom where you get a folder. In that folder there is a file "signed.nbh" or something like that.
Now all you have to do is to rename the file that you downloaded (SE r2 update) to the same name as the one in the folder (bla.nbh) and run the ruu utility.

I still can't get it.
Where do you download the SE R2 update file from?
and where to get the itjes ROM folder from?

everything is in the ROM section at xda-developers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=471
If you want to flash the official update and you dont have a button to continue then go to the ROM section and download the new firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
Now download some custom ROM eg itjes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473133
Whenever its all done ad you unpacked everything, you'll end up with a folder for the custom rom and one file for the officoal update. Now take this file and rename it to Kovsimg.nbh. Copy that file inside the custom rom folder and delete the other ruu_signed.nbh file.
Start the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the instructions...
after a while you'll be done. Now you can set up the phone again.
But I'd recomend a backup before flashing since all your stuff will be wiped out except for the micro sd card.
Hope that heplfull
