I didn't say that there won't be any more Cyber-shots. I just said that there will be other phones with good cams announced at MWC, in addition to the C901 and C903.

@Mr Miyagi
I know exactly what you mean about the K850i , I'm so attached to mine for some crazy reason even though I have the restart problems and the dedicated camera button seems to have stopped working since it went in for repair.
I cant see another SE handset at present to rush out and buy that would make me feel less than cheated at giving up my annoyingly tempremental but strangely addictive K850i.

Mr Myagi - I can't believe that as someone who works for O2 you're not more ashamed of owning the K850i. It's become a running joke, every time a customer brings one in now, I can pretty much guess the top three faults they've got with it before they even tell me.

Its gotten to the point where our repair centre are just replacing them straight away rather than repairing them, they've become beyond a joke now really.

@Mr Miyagi

I'm in a similar situation to you. My K850i has only recently developed a serious problem, namely, the Xenon flash seems to discharge very bright and with a noisy 'crack' and the flash unit is beginning to discolour and it looks smokey inside. Apart from this the phone has served me really well and I was lucky to get a 'good' unit.

However, its now 16 months old and I think I am going for a white C905 which I will completely debrand and update with the new fw which comes out next month. Then it will have the new features that are available on the latest SE phones such as Chat view and some other goodness for the camera.

Any phones announced soon won't be available for a few months yet and I'm not prepared to wait that long but yes the K850i has run its course.

Im in the same situation as you.

Im on my 2nd k850i now. my first one actually just failed after a year and 2 days of using. actually, the phone works fine, but the touch sensative keys are broken. I flashed the phone, master reset, everything. you can read about my problem in the technical section since its to long to list here. I also had the BROD, but i took care of that. Both of my K850i suffer from random resets. but its ussualy quick anyways.

The best thing about the phone is that it is always quick and reliable when I need it. My brother is a nokia fan, and updates his phones constantly, but he always has problems with them crashing. He just got a new E71 (which is a great phone with amazing build quality) and I froze in my hand in under a minute. Plus ive never been fond of S60. His N73 was the definition of fail. After a year, I dont think anything worked anymore. Speaker, microphone and certain keys failed. The thing ran horribly slow and it crashed multiple times daily. Pictures came out extremely discolored (everything had a very very strong blue tint)

Personally, this is probably in my top 3 favorite phones that ive owned (ive used only SE since the beginning days of the t68) only 2nd to my old and now broken p800. I will have a hard time to giving up this phone, However, I feel its just about time for an upgrade in specs (Wifi, GPS).

Im just hoping at MWC they can release a true successor to the k850i... something along the lines of a candybar c905.

Thats it! An 8mp candybar would go down well right now. The K850i was unfortunate in it being one of the 1st A200 phones so it suffered from all the teething problems of the new OS. Its also one of the longest phones I have had in continuous use and I have had none of the problems most others have had.

From what I have learned there won't be any Cyber-shot phones announced soon that will have a spec as high as the C905. I just hope I am lucky enough get another good unit and the extra WiFi and stuff makes it a worthy upgrade.

No Wi Fi enabled candy bars yet is there?
