I'm using the BlueMonkey adapter with the Billonton drivers. I got the same probs. I find it works better if the phone is pretty close to the dongle for some reason. There is a screen you can bring up that shows the current strength of the bluetooth device. You should try and keep this in the good range.
Read my posts at the end - to sum up, basically click on on the error message and the p800 should establish the port itself. For how long though is a different matter..
