Happens all the time.
A group of guys confronted my mates about 3 months back aswell. 2 iphones were taken, wallets everything and were threatened with a knife.

The actual town isn't bad or anything.
Just watch out the transport in the later hours, especially the trams...thats where most of the crimes happen.
